Belgacom the Belgian incumbent with over 1.57 million broadband subscribers and 45% market share increased its broadband tariffs in the first quarter of 2012. The increase  due to an increase of VAT from 6% to 21% and to indexation. The new pricing policy introduced by the incumbent will pave the road for the alternative operators to review their broadband tariffs. Some examples of the broadband tariffs are given in the table below:
